Dr. Joy Deshmukh Ranadive is an economist by training and a social scientist by practice, who comes with over three decades of experience in the area of gender, development and growth She is a gold medalist at Masters and has a doctorate in Economics. Her career spans her work as teacher, researcher, trainer, and head of not-for-profit organizations. She has
been Director, Indian School of Microfinance for Women in Ahmedabad and Country Director, International Centre for Research on Women which is head quartered in Washington.

Dr. Joy has been Global Head, CSR, Tata Consultancy Services where she was responsible for the strategy, policy formulation, implementation, monitoring and impact measurement of CSR programmes.

  • She has been awarded the CSR Leadership Award at the Responsible Business Summit and Awards, 2013 by World CSR Day and Eurasian Golden Corporate
  • She is among the world's top 10 powerful women awardees for the inaugural WBCSD (World Business Council for Sustainable Development) Leading Women Awards 2017
  • Dr. Joy has several books and papers to her credit in the areas of gender, development, microfinance, human rights and CSR.
  • She has been awarded Social Responsibility Award in 2016 by the Sanch Foundation, India, for contribution in the Social Sector, presented by Rt. Hon'ble Baroness Sandip Verma , Minister of International Development, UK
  • The Leading Women Awards showcases the business leadership of women in companies who are working to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Dr Joy retired in 2019 as Global Head, Corporate Social Responsibility, Tata Consultancy Services.
